Ukraine in front and deservedly so. 2 early chances for them off a pair Yevhen Konoplyanka crosses but neither of them could be headen in by Roman Yaremchuk. Domikink Pavelka had a shot outside the 18 easily saved by Andriy Pyatov. Patrick Schick had an effort comfortably stopped as well from outside the box. A chance for Konoplyanka at the near post forcing a good kick save from Jiri Pavlenka who replaced Tomas Vaclik in net for this one. Then a Ruslan Malinovskiy effort from 25 out or so went jut wide as well. Ukraine finally got their goal after forward Yaremchuk layed back to Malinovskiy who hit an absolute laser in the bottom right corner of the net. Ukraine 45 minutes away from promotion to League A.

FT :ukraine: Ukraine 1 :czech_republic: Czech Republic 0

A quieter 2nd half with chances at a premium. David Pavelka’s effort from outside the box tipped over. Marlos played one in behind for Andriy Yarmolenko who went around the keeper but took the ball over the end line. Best chnace for the Czechs came from substitute Jaromír Zmrhal but his shot at the near post was turned away by Pyatov. Ukraine should of got a second late on when Yarmolenko played a nice ball wide into space in behind for sub Viktor Tsyhankov but goalie Jiri Pavlenka came out to close down the angle and make the save on the Dynamo Kiev youngster. Taras Stepanenko had a late toe-poke effort going just wide but it ended 1-0 to Ukraine with Andriy Shevchenko’s side promoted to League A with 3 wins from 3.

Sky and s4c. Use the other channels option to tune it in if you have sky. Just google the frequency it’s easy enough ( until the match is on then it’s a horror show)

Meh. Can’t be arsed going to that much trouble. Is there an Ireland match tracker? He’d be a lot less busy then Dublin match tracker.

#386

Heard we had a chance the first half, so that’s something.

#387

If its any consolation , these type of results are moving us closer to the exit door for O’Neill & Keane.

#388

1-0 great strike that’s one nail in the coffin for MON and his corkness. Who want to take over this useless mob.

#389

Awful goalkeeping by Randolph

#390

Isolated is originally a Welsh word. It’s a translation of the Olde English word “Brexit”.

#391

Not an ounce of quality in the team bar Coleman . Its a shocking indictment tbf how far we have dropped . Do we blame the influx of foreign players through scouting in European leagues in the PL over the last 20 odd years . The axing of the 3 foreign players rule destroyed any hope our lads might make in the top league across the sea since then.

#392

This must be a new low.

#393

beaten by wales minus bale and some other guy who is supposed to be good. oh well.

#394

Ukraine are promoted!

#395

Keane & MON outsmarted by Giggs , one of the thickest shit heaps on the planet .
The clock is ticking boys…

#396

As thick as bottled shite

#397

Coleman still hasn’t recovered with a run of games yet either.

If O’Neill was to go who would take over and make us any better ? Players aren’t there and we’ve no one up front. Long is beyond useless and can’t score for his club.

#398

I used to love watching MON’s teams when he was with Celtic and a few others. His teams had beaten many teams of vastly superior wealth etc, by being smart, sticking to a game plan and playing to their strengths.

This current Ireland team are so far removed from this, it’s worlds apart! I’m not the biggest soccer fan in the world, but I enjoy the game when it’s played well. We haven’t played it well in months/years.

4 of the starting team tonight were born in Ireland. McClean and Duffy came through Northern Ireland system. Have produced nobody decent at underage since Duff, Keane and Dunne. Brian Kerr should have been brought back into underage set up years ago but doesn’t get on with John Delaney. Likes of Enda Stevens, John Egan and Sean Maguire should have been starting tonight instead of likes of Christie,Keogh and O’Brien.

He had Larsson , Sutton & Hartson probably in their prime . And an absolute genius in Moravcik.
Add in the likes of Petrov, Thompson & Lambert with a bit of bottle with Lennon .Whatever people say about the SPL but that 2003 Uefa cup run showed up Blackburn & Liverpool big time .
They were a very decent team to watch .
