Gerlock? Has he ever said a bad word about "Kilkinnyyyy" since he stopped coaching? Sure he's just like Cyddil Faddel and the rest of them the last number of years, whrishty hurlin' an' all that shite, paying homage to the aristocrats of the game, "sure that's what we all want to see, greeet hurling and a magnificent demonstration of our gaaames". And fook all the weaker counties. Nare a mention of the lack of competition at that game, just one big cliquey love-in. If ever a sport needed a strong, controversial team it's hurling. There's been nothing since Clare in the 90s and a few bits of Davy Fitz over the years.
Thank feck for the football where there's controversy and at least a few more competitive years. And the juggeranut, the KOTF insanity, the mad Ulster crowd, and all the moaning and wailing about doom for the game.
Seriously though, hurling is for the aficionados, the elitists, the sooner they learn to open it up the sooner it has a better chance of thriving.
