missed the European cup final at the weekend, by all accounts didn't miss much - but a new winner which has to be a good thing ... well done to Saracens ey? ummm? huh? - funny how low key it is about the competition once the provinces are knocked out. Apparently very low attendances at the semi-finals over in the UK. Heard Eddie O Sullivan talking about it, first Irish rugby person i've heard actually say that the french (excpet for the Toulons and Claremonts) arent that bothered by euorpe - not that it is news - but good to hear someone admit it finally.

Can't agree that Saracens winning anything is good for the game, though I know your point was about someone new winning the European Champions Cup. Saracens play a dour, throttling style of rugby with a few players who border on physical assault when they play. Add that to the fact that they are £45m in debt and don't seem too bothered to be running up annual losses of arounf £4m-£5m per year. So long as such an attitude to finances is pursued and, worse still, accepted, then it is hard to see any Irish, Scottish and Welsh teams and most English teams being able to compete.
Owen Farrell kicked all of Saracens points. I think he should have been banned from the final for his wreckless tackle that earned him a retrospective ban not long enough to rule him out of the final. I really hope he gets his comeuppence some day.

e new winning the European Champions Cup.
i was joking about saracens - no one seems to like them. That itjoe guy is a beast though.

they have been running up big scores though, they can play rugby when it suits, but they like to win ugly as well, not unlike munster when they were good with rog at 10.

Jaysus Tayto that's a bit harsh. Granted rog is no Jonny Sexton, nor were Hayes, Foley and Strings but ......

O'Gara was a poor tackler but in fairness, he never went hiding - he just wasn't built for tackling. He had great game control and was a decent passer but didn't have enough pace to make game line breaks. But the move (chip kick) out of their own 22 that himself and BO'D contrived to win late on to win against England in 2006 showed how he could see opportunities. I think Munster from 2006-08 had a lot more attacking intent beyond 8, 9, 10 and 12 than Saracens are currently willing to display. For the amount of forward power and possesion dominence that Saracens generally have in their games, their wingers score very few tries.

Different with Ireland, had some backs to play with then.
Munster played up the jumper rugby, kick for possession, line out, maul = try. Effective because their pack was dominant and their line-out was brilliant and ROG was the perfect 10 for that game plan. nothing wrong with it but no better rugby then Saracens play,

Looks like there'll be a full house of 19,000+ in the RDS tonight, with only a few tickets left. A guy in the office picked up two this morning.
Should be a cracking game as Ulster, who haven't won there in an age, are in fine form at present, having won 4 games on the trot and if Leinster needed any reason for being up for the game, the fact that Ulster whipped them 3 weeks ago should do the trick.
Hard one to call but home advantage might just swing it for the :rugby_football: Boys in Blue

Brilliant performance by Leinster on Friday, with outstanding contributions from Heaslip, Sexton, Fitzgerald & Murphy.
Over the next week, Leinster Fans will find out a bit of what it's like to support Dublin in the build-up to a final, in that while we are 1 county v 31 ..... Leinster will be 1 province v 3

Leinster lose Isa Nacewa & Devon Toner in run-up to final. A big loss being two of their main players, Devon ruled the line-out against Ulster in the semi and Isa is Leinsters main try scoring threat. Could be a riveting game.

Wouldn't be nearly as big a fan of the egg chasing as I was in the past but I would really love to see Connacht win tomorrow just for something different.
