O'Gara showed the last day he can be very useful for the lay-off from a long ball inside. Besdies nearly demolishing the goal.
All told we need to do something different this year so should be exciting. Mannion and Con obviously add a certain dynamism and spark that we might have lost, and spurs the older lads on again, from the bench, while the loss of Connolly means a serious rethink (or at least allows the space for it) in terms of approach play.
Would like to see Howard get a run in midfield, at least for a while against Kildare. With Kerry clearly targeting Fenton if we can add another young lad to the mix we could get the run on their older lads. Mayo's midfield is very limited. (Tyrone are in the conversation but I don't think they score heavily enough.)
I think Kerry have a serious edge though. Losing regularly to us has really focused them, similar to ourselves in 2011 they'll take some beating. The two lads inside look lethal, and we concede scores. Somebody mentioned our running game, they targeted it at source in Tralee. They're doing the work.
