I think it was also everyone's game, Gilroy started to put together one of the best, and most exciting teams ever to play the game. For all Brolly's doomtalk the last few years, the fact is people like to see great teams playing in massive contests.
When Kerry and Tyrone were going head-to-head in the last decade Brolly was loving it, and lauding how great the GAA was etc etc. Fact is most games back then from Qtr Final on were one-sided, and dominated by the big two. Past few years we've seen multiple great contests in semis, and finals.
I agree with some of what he says but he shouldn't be just joining in this pessimistic, negative automatic culture of running everything Snr football down just to suit his current beliefs. Alot of it is the mood of the time, flavour of the moment. I do feel that unchecked cynicism, and negative tactics has taken from the enjoyment of alot of games though.
