Laois are missing upwards of 10 senior players due to injuries, lads gone abroad for work etc. They haven’t the resources to cope with that. They’ve just completely stagnated unfortunately and probably need a new management team. He probably stayed a year too long
Galway doing well but Kilkenny have a real goal scoring threat which the Tribesmen don’t appear to have
Galway giving Kilkenny a run for their money, can’t get over some of the Kilkenny passing (a lot of their players being made to look pretty average), Galway 12 kk 7. No doubt there’ll be a kk fight back.
Kilkenny have taken over in the second half. 1-17 to O-17 ahead.
Kk 1-25 to gal 0-20 … A paddling in the end.
Goal killed them. 71 Leinster titles - 78 for Kerry earlier! And people try to tell us there’s something wrong with the provinces …
Also that young lad Kilkenny brought on - Hogan I think - could turn out to be an ok player
Another Leinster for Kilkenny, booooooring
It’s all Dublin’s fault.
I know it’s all irrelevant now but could we have played Wexford again had we won in Páirc Ui Rinn the other night?
That’s what I thought. Cheers Alan
What are people’s views on Joe Canning ?
As a big game performer I don’t think he’s a patch on Ollie.
So many big games where he’s only had minimal impact and his reputation is vast. Not sure it’s warranted.
Would agree with that.Anonymous in too many big games and tends to go missing. Galway played a lot of their best hurling last year through Cathal Mannion and Jake Flynn. I wonder was Canning put out by this these tactics last year that he want the main man? Galway main problems are central spine in defence. Always seems to have different 3 & 6 every year
I would consider Canning like the Zlatan Ibrahimovic of hurling.
More then capable of a amazing piece of skill or performance (remember the goal against Kilkenny last year). However, more often then not appears to go missing in some of the bigger games. Think he was poor enough in most of Galway’s games last year despite them getting to the final.
yesterday was as quiet as i’ve seen him, richie hogan is something else.
Lack of support from team mates?
full forward line scored 11 from play. Cathal Mannion and Whelan gave him plenty of support
Clare v Limerick - hard to look past Clare on this one, they’ll get stronger with each game they play as well a la 2013
Cork v Wexford - Cork but will they learn anything from it?
All Ireland Hurling Qualifiers Round 1
