Dublin U17 Hurling 2018

Thought the forwards played like individuals and we were poor under the high ball. Midfield were strong and half-back line too. Just need more commited forwards and better understanding up front. Lot of the kilkenny scores came from simple wrap arounds and accurate hand passes to the right man in the right place. Dubs need to learn from the video review. However, we shouldn’t fear Kilkenny, our lads have the beating of them later on, if they learn and make a couple of changes up front.

Final score a bit harsh on Dublin. This is really just shadow boxing as group games just decide who the tier one teams meet in the 1/4 finals so plenty of games to gell. Kilkenny expect this minor team to go very well this year.

SCORERS - Kilkenny: C Kelly 0-14 (0-12f), C Brennan 1-3 (0-1f), G Murphy 1-2, C O’Leary 1-1, J Morrissey 0-2, C Kenny 0-1. Dublin: L Swan 3-1, L Dunne 1-7 (0-5f, 0-1 ’65’), D Purcell 0-2, A O’Neill, P Christie 0-1 each.

KILKENNY: J Brennan; P Dempsey, J Young, J Harkin; S Staunton, P Moylan, H Walsh; C Kenny, C Kelly; D Maher, C Brennan, J Morrissey; C O’Leary, G Murphy, K Hogan. Sub: E Guilfoyle for Hogan (46).

DUBLIN: J Lambert; K Byrne, C Hogan, T Cullen; E Carney, A O’Neill, I O hEithir; D Leavy, D Power; D McLoughney, P Christie, C Foley; L Dunne, L Swan, D Purcell. Subs: F Murphy for Cullen (ht), C Murray for McLoughney (36), A O’Toole for Foley (44), S Fenton for Purcell (57).

REF: B Redmond (Wexford).

Are they out again this week?

Yep, on Saturday v Laois.

what time is game on at?

3.30 O’ Moore park
Wexford only beat Laois by 4 or 5 points so not to be underestimated
Hopefully they can build on a decent performance from last weekend

Cheers for That.

Kilkenny are fancied for the all Ireland so think that was a very good performance, obviously barring the last 7-8 minutes. Looks like there are Goals in that team, which is not typical for a Dublin team.

Was talking to a Kilkenny friend of mine after the minor game. He said they fancy this team down there.

Dubs unchanged

Surprised not a couple of changes. We were very ropey at the back. And while we looked very dangerous going forward a return of 12 points from 70 mins not good. Think this team has potential though.

+2 points for dub
