I never said I thought he would turn footballers into hurlers, the chances of turning the likes Ciaran Kilkenny back to hurling is very limited, with the exception of Schutte i dont see it happeing. Gilroy’s apointment changes the status quo for lads who are coming from minor to u21 bracket, keeping good hurlers playing rather than giving up to be squad members of the football team.
Your right about Gilroy not being able to create forwards, neither can mattie Kenny but that doesnt suit your narrative. One reason I’m glad Pat gilroy got it over kenny is its an open secret mattie kenny wanted to be galway No.1, The dublin job was a stepping stone to achieve that. Pat Gilroy’s motives cant be questioned its not for money or for profile.
Wasnt reffering to people on here by “hurling people” I was reffering to people from the likes of Kilkenny and Tipperary who are already sneering at the appointment, wait for the hurlers first defeat it will be thrown back at Gilroy to stick to football.
Concerens about lack of hurling management experience are fair enough, Pat Gilroy has the same level of Hurling management experience taking this job as football management experience when he took the football job.
