I've no idea what mothballed means so can't answer that question.
But if revenue is the main goal, then that's even more of a reason to revamp the championships and playing season. More meaningful and competitive games would bring in more money than the current system- that's being brought out by the numbers where people are staying at home rather than gling to pointless games.
So whichever way you're coming at it changing the structure and playing season is in the interest of the GAA. A shorter season doesn't necessarily equate to fewer games.
