Dublin Intermediate Hurling Championship (IHC) 2018

Anyone know when that replay will take place

great resurgence from Marks last 2 or 3 years but yeah you would worry about age profile

hurling in Tallaght not motoring too bad - Thomas davis having a good year too

When will the final be? Will it be pushed back in light of the game that has to be replayed?

I’d imagine the replay will be played under lights early next week, with the inter winners having to playoff with senior b winners for Leinster I don’t think they will have time to push it back. So the final should go ahead w/ 21st

That’s the norm alright. Abbotstown under lights would be a grand spot for it

So that means the final will be the 27th with Leinster starting on November 3rd.

Looks like a midweek match under lights to see who goes in Leinster

Like last year. TD played the final Friday night, playoff wed against Raheny and Leinster sat against gleneally. The two day gap was too short and it showed in the last 10 mins as TD let a 6 point lead slip mainly due to player fatigue. Surely the winners deserve at least a full week prep for Leinster to give them the best chance of winning.

Will Cuala have many of their senior panel eligible to play in the final? Seemed like their A’s weren’t using many subs this year

Scoil Ui Chonaill are still involved in the Intermediate football championship. If they win their semi final this weekend and the hurling replay versus Marks then they will be in both intermediate county finals.

The county board have already indicated the football final is the weekend of 28th of October so the hurling could not go ahead then also in those circumstances. Long way to go for them to have that headache yet though.

Cuala contested a Junior A final a few years ago and won. Subsequently they were stripped of the title of champions as Con O’Callaghan played in the game having played Senior that year also. I’m sure they will avoid such an oversight again.

I think they should be strong enough with the panel of inter players they have. Their record in the championship so far suggests that. Cuala won their group in which Marks were 4th.

Think Con came on as a blood sub in the Senior championship and Cuala were under the impression that this didn’t count as a full appearance. Understand that they had received confirmation of this - but can’t remember what came of it.

Should be 6-7 of the A subs that can play Inter this year too as they haven’t got game time in the Senior championship. They’d have all played in the other Inter championship games though.

Con came on as a cameo for a few minutes in the previous year. It seems that Cuala, incorrectly, did not think he required regarding for the following year as he was a minor!! Scoil did not appeal and the CCC identified the issue and the only recourse was to declare the final with no winner!!

Odd scenario alright. They are in a Junior B or C final too I think? After 3 amazing seasons for their seniors it has obviously filtered right down through the hurling ranks in Dalky. They will probably be favourites v the winners of the replayed semi final

Getting up there with the powerhouse clubs of Boden and Crokes. Crokes with teams in A,B championship performing well and playing in intermediate championship this year

That’s impressive. Crokes In the senior county football and hurling finals. Lost in extra time in senior B semi hurling. What some clubs would give for a part of that competitiveness
