Reading other counties blogs is like what is said about eavesdropping - you never hear good about yourself - so what is the point in doing it? I would say stuff on here about another counties team, that I wouldn’t say to a guy from that county. Not that it would be bad or anything, but I might be critical of some aspect of their play, but if I am talking to someone from there, I will be saying sure they did their best and every year they are improving etc. etc. And there is nothing wrong with that, I just don’t want to offend the person in question. However, on here I am assuming that this is for a Dublin fan base and no one will be offended if I say that such a team has a weak half back line or something. The few guys from other counties that come on here generally seem to accept that occasionally they will read something they don’t like and ignore it, and that is how it has to be.
But in general people have to cop themselves on a bit. If Connolly and Keegan square up to each other in a game it is completely nothing to do with how the man in the street (or woman) should react to someone from the opposing county. They are doing it in the heat of battle and with a lot of inherent respect - the man in the street is just being a gobshite.
