Had they won, it would have been their first league title since 2008, and the first Tipp team to win the league as all Ireland champions since 1965. As the saying goes winning becomes a habit, a beating like that today is a huge setback. Galway now has the physicality and the hurling skills to match Tipp, the real question is have they the mental toughness to push on and win an All-Ireland?
