I was well impressed with some of the balanced discussions but then thought I’d jump to the end to post someting
Being from Tyrone I’ve been waiting for this game for a long time now and my kids (all under 10) are very excited.
I found Whelan’s analysis last Sunday very interesting and he seemed to fear Tyrone could take the Dubs.
He more or less was saying Dublin should not push up for the kick outs but fall back and not get sucked into Tyrone’s trap.
I think this will be a fascinating tactical battle but it will not have lovely flowing football so a lot of the anti Ulster brigade will get more ammunition to throw at us. However, I think it has to take something different and special to beat this amazing Dublin team and most of ye know now that teams will get annihilated if they just play open attacking football against ye
Tyrone have only conceded 5 points or less in the first half of each of their 4 games so far and gave away very few frees. I would imagine Mickey Harte will be aiming for the same in this game to frustrate the Dubs and their fans, however it will be a big big ask to do that.
I think O’Gara will play a huge part in this game as he will give the Tyrone defence a lot to worry about. I know a lot of ye Dubs dont like him as a player but he’s a huge handful and could win ye frees and even a peno
