Mayo to win with a few to spare or can the Premier make it two senior finals in 2016?
All Ireland Semi Final, Mayo v Tipperary, Sunday 21st August, Croke Park, 3.30pm

Would love to see Tipperary do the business here. No-one is giving them a chance. Who knows in a one of game can Mayo have a second perennial brain fart? Unlikely. I wonder where the neutral support will go? Tipp?
-
Be gas if Tipp knocked them out but I really want to play them should we get past Kerry.
-
On form lines, Tipp hammered the team that beat Mayo so they shouldn't be written off at all.
The Tipp forwards will give them plenty. I expect Leeroy to pick up Quinlivan. If Tipp get an early goal it could be interesting.
Mayo will obviously be more used to the big occasion and will probably have too much nous for Tipp, much as Kerry had in the Munster final. But I wouldn't underestimate the Tipp lads at all ...
-
I'd give Tipp a serious chance in this. Quinlivan is one of the best forwards in the country and as a whole they have a great work ethic. A fair few of them have actually won an All Ireland in Croke Park too, something Aido and the boys cannot claim.
I won't be surprised if they nick it.
-
Liam Kearns is a shrewd manager with lots of experience. Mayo could (I hope ) be caught. Would love to see LeeRoy get a bellyfull from Quinlivan.
-
To be honest if Dublin were playing Tipperary in the semi we would expect us to beat them by around 10 points. For me Mayo are not that far behind us so I would expect them beat Tipperary by something close to that score.
-
Wouldn't suprise me if Tipp bet Mayo, but I think the experience of having been in many semifinals will probably stand to Mayo.
-
what will stand for Mayo is the experiance of being there, but I'll tell you this, that Tipp team can beat them. Tipp have matured a lot this summer, but I can see them leaking goals, they probably will not go defensive. Despite budgets being tight if I can afford to I'll pick up tickets for myself and my sons to go. Sadly being away the past few weeks I've missed out, so far, on Kerry tickets, and the eldest wants to to to the hurling final..... it's hard following two counties in one home. The village was deserted last sunday and I feel that feck all will be goign to support the footballers.
-
A potential banana skin for Mayo for sure but if Mayo play like we know they can then they will win. I think Mayo are too long around and experienced to take Tipp for granted. The Galway defeat earlier this year took care of that. Mayo won't allow Tipp the freedom that Galway did. Tipp have a great inside forward line but they need to get the ball. I wathed there game back and it was great honest clean football...a throwback but the amount of space Galway afforded to them was unreal.
-
A big number of the Tipp lads have known great success in Croke park albeit at under age level. Very few have been on a losing team in Croker. If Mayo are committed to a strong defensive set up and can sustain it, I think they might edge it. However if it becomes a swashbuckling affair where both teams file forward with abandon, the younger legs of Tipp could hold a crucial edge. Fascinating contest in prospect. 4/11 Mayo. Don't see that. Looking forward to watching it.
-
Thing is I can't see this game being an open affair. Mayo this year have gone more defensive in order to contain all those goals we were leaking before. I think Mayo will aim to shut down the Tipp supply line and suffocate them. It may not be pretty but getting to the final will be all that matter's. IF it turned into a free flowing open old fashioned game then yes Tipp have a chance.
