Adult Hurling League 3 (AHL3) 2018

AHL3 appears to be between Boden and St Sylvestors who had wins this morning. Davis hanging in there, but Towers dropped another 2 points. Good win for Castleknock against Kevin’s but they are too far behind the leaders…

Boden 3.20 Mearnog 2.11

Towers 2-15 Syls 2-21

Big win for our lads. 8 in it at half time but towers came out firing in the second half. We settled and saw the game out in the end. Big games coming up now at both ends of the table

Kevin’s 14 Castleknock 3.21

Not over yet. Davis still have to play boden

Towers -V- Boden and Syls -V- Pats tonight… Two very interesting games.

Towers will be looking to get a win here to stay in contention after losing their last two games. Which would be exactly what Syls want… Boden have a tough finish to the league playing 3 of the top 5 teams while Syls will only play one of the ‘top 5’ teams that being Boden. Thomas Davis also very much in contention if they can win their 3 remaining games, which would see them finish 2nd…

Some of the lower teams will be keen to pick up points to avoid relegation also.

Wins for Sylvester’s, Towers and Castleknock.

Syls beat Pats by 12
Towers beat Boden by 3
Fins and peregrines drew
TD beat mearnog
Castleknock beat Commercials
Kevin’s beat Clontarf by 1

Towers win over Boden means that if Syls beat Boden the next day out they will win the league. 2nd and 3rd very much up for grabs between 4 teams so interesting couple of games still to come with teams at the top and bottom still with everything to play for

All to play for at the top but Fingallians will go down. Commercials have a chance of staying up but are looking like they will drop. Kevin’s are safe. St Pats, Peregines are unlikely to go down? Commercials would need to win their remaining games including their next game against Clontarf which would be the key game.

With Dublins All Ireland Semi Final confirmed for Sat 11 August will the Round of league games fixed for that evening be switched to the Following morning?

Yes. No fixtures on 11th.
AHL1-4 are 11am on 12th
5/6 @ 12.30
7/8/9 @ 3.30

Castleknock beat Fingallians last night so Fingallians are for the drop. Mearnog won by about 5 this morning so that’s them safe from a play off.

Syls beat Boden by a point to win the league. Cracking game - last minute free for syls won it

They have gone up and down between 2 and 3 over the years but I think they will have enough now to stay up in 2 next year.

Thomas Davis 4-15 towers 2-15. Good game of hurling by both sides.

Congrats to all involved with Syls. I’d expect them to also win the inter championship

Fingallians could only draw with Clontarf last night so that is them straight back down to Div 4 because Commercials have H2H on them.

Peregrines invoking the ‘2 game rule’ and will wait for Lowndes to come back before playing Pats and Syls. The Peregrines vs Pats game may decide who plays Commercials in the relegation playoff.

At the top it is wide open. Any of TD, Castleknock, Boden and Towers can still make the promotion playoff. Big game between TD and Boden this weekend. Whoever wins it will be in the playoff and whoever loses probably won’t get in at all. Castleknock most likely to get in too

Think it shows that the change from a 4 team playoff to a 2 team playoff has paid off as there are no dead-rubber games at this time of year, particularly in AHL 2&3

Td Castlenock into the playoff final. Thomas Davis with home advantage

looks like it’s between Pats and Peregines for the playoff against Commercials. I don’t think Clontarf can be caught?
