Have not seen such a one sided ref in a long long time. I have not slated a ref on here in years, but this was jaw dropping stuff. We were 4 up with around 15 to go when he gave one of our lads a second yellow for calling him a disgrace (probably shouldn’t have but frustration was at a high). They got level, or maybe within 1 point and then a mix up between our keeper and defender let a free dropping short into the net. We were missing loads, they seemed to be missing loads too. No Brogans anyway, Paul was there, Alan injured and Bernard not around. James was playing. Nesty was upfront. Ross McC was lording it at MF until going down with what looked like a hammy and had to go off. We took over from there until the sending off, but game ruined by the ref
a player has no excuse for getting sent off for mouthing to the ref i was at this game and the player in question got his two yellows for mouthing to the ref its about time gaa players start showing some respect for refs.
To be fair, he was so bad that how could you respect him, he ruined the game. Its not like players were at him from the start, it was frustration due to his decisions. I do agree though that getting sent off for 2 yellows both for mouthing is silly
very strong breeze, Brigids took full advantage of it in the first half scoring 4 goals within 15mins, had several goal chances in the first half, some top class shooting on show in the 1st half, Phil Ryan and Lorcan Mccarthy especially… Cuala had a go in the 2nd half but far too much to do, interesting umpire for Cuala, UCD manager John Divley, word is he will be involved with them from now on…
