The rockers on one side in the grove remember it well
Jaysus, fair play. I’d be keeping that one quiet, if it was me.
I’d say there were a fair few dodgy purchases made during the two decades.
I wouldn’t say anyone ever bought a red bomber jacket with tartan lining … ever …
With a scarf tied around the wrist? No.
On the contrary, it’s safe to say that everyone on here, owned a Frankie Goes to Hollywood “Relax” T Shirt and an over sized stone washed denim jacket, at some stage. Scarily, more than a few of ye, probably still do.
No that was the 70s Bay City Rollers vibe - docs and denims with a tartan trim down the seams … in vogue at '74 Final. Boy bands … they never work …
Oh Jesus…Dunnes sold Bay City Rollers socks, with the lads faces on them. Wanted to wear them for my First Communion. I loved Les just that much. The mother wasn’t having any of it. Shockingly enough.
Went to see them in Olympia couple years back, brilliant
yeah they put on a great show… some great tracks (except the abba shit)
Your talking Bay City Rollers time…
Jaysus this thread is better than an AA meeting!!
Do you mean the Harrington jacket?
They were available in navy in the early 80’s
Essential haute couture for a young man going to Hill 16.
The granda worked in C & C years ago, every Sunday had two bottles Lemon & Lime, American Cream Soda & Red Lemonade sent over to house. Used to get 10p for empties that sorted swimming in Ballymun baths for following week.
Didn’t Cream Soda have a kind of American flag thing going on on the label?
Yep. Thinks it back on sale again. Daughter was only talking about it last week. Tasted like ice cream float.
Might have been American Cream Soda?? Hence the US themed label … and we bought it …, literally. I also remember flagon bottles of Cidona … the ideal training apparatus for later canal bank/railway track drinking …
C n C introduced it along with their version of Coke to break into US market.
It bombed in US so they continued it here.
Think the Ma used to give it to the sick childer…
Loose cigarettes, graduating to 10 major, chocolate pies, cream slices, fruit slices, soda streams, triumph 20s …
Except it’s more embarrassing!
My first lp was the pleasure principle by Gary numan. Great record. The sound of the future.
The brother had the soundtrack to the bitch and the stud. Amazing disco sounds and Joan Collins in that outfit on the cover
