For those interested in attending the GAA games development conference details have been sent to us and are as follows.

The Conference will take place on the weekend of November 28th and 29th in Croke Park and will feature a number of innovations that we have not used previously –

1. International speakers (from the USA and the Australian Institute of Sport),
2. Irish speakers with international experience (Giles Warrington Physiologist for the Olympic squad) and
3. High profile coaches from around Ireland.

We will culminate with a practical coaching demonstration on the Croke Park pitch under lights by Martin Fogarty (Kilkenny Senior Hurling Coach) and Michael McGeehin (Director of Coaching Ireland, Limerick Senior Football and St Eunans Senior Football team coach). You can access more information or reserve a place through the Games Development website – www.gamesdevelopment.gaa.ie

There are also specific Key Note addresses for Hurling and football:
o        Damien Young, Performance Analyst of the Tipperary Senior Hurling team will deliver a session on the analysis of Hurling and its implications for coaching sessions
o        Wexford Senior Football Manager, Jason Ryan will deliver a presentation on the development of Team Play in Football

The range and quality of speakers delivering on the 2008 Games Development Conference is higher than ever. Since the launch of the Conference, a number of the speakers have been appointed to coach Inter County squads:

·         Mickey Whelan has been appointed as coach to the Dublin Senior Football team
·         Professor Niall Moyna has been appointed as physical coach to the Dublin Senior Football team
·         Eamon O’Shea has been re-appointed as Selector to the Tipperary Senior Hurling team
·         Damien Young has been appointed as coach to the Tipperary Minor Hurling team

In total 24 speakers are current or former Inter County Coaches at Senior, U.21, Minor or County Academy level, while a further 5 have experience at International level across a variety of sports.
